Welcome to Scotscraig Ladies Section

As a full member, ladies have equal membership.  It is a very friendly active section so even if you don't know anybody when you join, you soon will!  We host a new members' night as well as other social events throughout the season.

The main competition days are Tuesday and Thursday with tee times throughout the day, including evenings.  The alternative Medal Day is Saturday and there are also weekend competitions.

A wide range of competitions are held throughout the year including some fun ones.

The Ladies have a full programme of inter club matches and also enter players into national competitions.

Throughout the summer, there is an ongoing eclectic competition raising money for the Red Cross.

To participate in the main competitions, you require a handicap.  For new members who are looking to get a handicap for the first time, or those whose handicap has lapsed, a minimum of 54 holes will have to be played at Scotscraig.  If you require a "marker", the Ladies Captain or any committee member will be on hand to ensure that someone is available to play a round with you and mark your card at a time that suits you - a great way to meet other members.

It is very easy to play 9 holes at Scotscraig as the 9th Hole comes back to the clubhouse.

There is an active Friday morning ladies group that is particularly aimed at ladies who prefer to play only 9 holes or are beginners who may not yet have a handicap.  This provides an opportunity to play 9 holes in a very relaxed way while building up confidence on the golf course.

From May - October we have monthly 9 hole informal competitions for beginners and those without handicaps at which we offer help with basic rules and etiquette.  Another excellent way to meet other ladies new to the game.

We are very fortunate at Scotscraig that the course is often open when other courses locally are not.  We rarely play from mats or onto Winter Greens.  The ladies take full advantage of this.  From October - March, on Tuesday mornings, ladies are encouraged to "just turn up and play" with a draw for partners made on the day - if the weather is poor the coffee is always good!

There is a series of 16 hole Stableford competitions over the winter and Eclectic and Ringer competitions, so there is plenty of opportunity to play and practice in a friendly, less competitive atmosphere.

We are also members of the Winter Coastal League putting forward a team of three players to the monthly matches held on various courses from October to March.

19th HOLE

After playing our rounds, we like to retire to the clubhouse for a drink and sandwich and a good natter!

The Ladies Locker room has a shower and changing facilities.  There are lockers to rent and it is also where the sign up sheets for all competitions are held, along with other information about socila events.
